Authorities in Arizona are saying that several dogs found at rapper DMX’s Phoenix home had serious injuries.  Two dogs who were found buried at his home had serious wounds, including bites and trauma to the abdomen,   while another dog was burned so badly, an examination could not be done.

Authorities raided DMX’s home back in August after allegations of animal abuse. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says someone must be held accountable.

We have 12 dogs who were abused and three dogs buried in the yard, someone’s going to have to pay.

DMX’s lawyers claim that he hasn’t been at his Phoenix home for months and had no knowledge of any animal abuse.

Lame title; I know.  Anyways, rapper DMX, real name Earl Simmons, got his house raided by police on Friday after they were tipped off that his dogs were living in inhumane conditions.  Authorities said they gave a prior warning to improve the conditions at the house, or else they would take further action.  When police returned to his house, they discovered three dead dogs, and seized several pitt bulls from the home.

No arrests were made.

DMX’s laywer, Murray Richman said that police did not give any warning they were going to raid the house, and claims that the rapper has not been at that house for several months.  He says that a caretaker was supposed to be looking after the dogs, and DMX was distraught when he found out they weren’t being taken care of.

We had a caretaker that wasn’t taking care, that’s what happened.  He loves dogs — he loves these animals. Those dogs are practically his family.

I can believe he loves dogs, because DMX is really kind of weird about dogs in the same way cat ladies are weird about cats.  I mean every song he is singing about dogs or ruffing like a dog or having dogs in his videos.  He just seems to me to be a little touched, if you get my drift.  I will give him the benefit of the doubt though, but if he is involved in dogfighting, then it’s ON.
