Didja hear that Ellen DeGeneres adopted a dog from a rescue agency, then gave it away to her hairdresser when the dog did not get along with her cats? Well the agency took the dog away from the hairdresser’s family because they said Ellen was not supposed to give the dog away. Unfortunately, the hairdressers two young daughters got really attached to the dog and Ellen wants the rescue agency to give it back. She made a public plea on her show this week, complete with tears begging the agency to return the dog.
Now that I’ve caught you up to speed, Mutts and Moms, the pet adoption agency in the middle of this mess, is saying that Ellen is using her fame and celebrity to badmouth them and force them to give the dog back. A lawyer for Mutts and Moms says DeGeneres’ publicist, Kelly Bush has been leaving them threatening messages. In a voicemail to the agency, Bush says:
This is Kelly Bush. We are filing a legal case against you. We are going to be contacting the media. This is not going to be good for your store or your organization. You did not do the right thing. You need to call back. There is no reason for you to take this dog. Please call back before this gets further out of hand.
Not only have they gotten threatening emails from DeGeneres’ reps, but her fans have come out in force as well. In another message to Mutts and Moms, one fan said:
You slimeball bitches are not worthy of living. How dare you make Ellen cry. Give Iggy back!
Craziness! I wonder if Ellen’s fans are as crazy as Oprah’s fans? Anyways, I think I will take Ellen’s side on this. According to The Insider, the agency acted real shady and lied and didn’t even follow it’s own rules, but yet they expect Ellen to? Hypocrites. As long as the dog goes to a loving home, I don’t see what the problem is. I mean that is the whole point of rescue agencies isn’t it?
But Ellen should’ve handled this behind the scenes, instead of using her fame to get back at the company. Because in the end, if Moms and Mutts goes out of business due to the bad publicity, the ones who suffer the most are the animals.
