On her next album, Fergie is going to start mentioning clothing company, Candies, in her songs.  In exchange, Fergie will be paid a reported $4 million.  She is the first “artist” that will permits product placement in her songs.  An exec at her record label says:

With record sales in decline, you must find novel ways to make money out of the music. The trick is to make the brand part of the song so that it slips down easily rather than chokes the fan.

Is this what music has come to?  Lots of artist mention products or brands in their songs, but I doubt they get paid for it.  I hope she doesn’t start a trend, because that would be the death of music.

Am I being too dramatic?  Probably.

OMG I am so clever with this wordplay…don’t hate. But enough about me, apparently there’s some kind of feud between Fergie and Nelly Furtado. I didn’t even know this, and quite frankly, I don’t even care (So why am I posting about this??? The mind–she boggles).

They are both talentless hacks: one hi-jacks other people’s style, and the other can’t sing. Actually neither of them can sing, but they both keep making records. When will the madness stop??

Fergie has recorded a song with Daddy Yankee called Impacto in which she completely rips into Nelly.  I mean, it’s just so vicious.  She says:

I ain’t promiscuous, the realest chick up in this…I’ma pull your wig back!

Ouch! That was a real zinger, Ferg. I better not mess with you, cause you are so real, and so un-promiscuous…and you pull wigs.

Fergie, who plays a lesbian in the film Grindhouse, has revealed that she has had her share of lesbian flings. She says that when she was 18, she began rebelling against her Catholic upbringing by getting into drugs and sex.

I have had lesbian experiences in the past. But I started having sex quite late on - after I was 18. I was raised a good Catholic girl.

I won’t say how many men I have slept with, although it’s not many, but I am a very sexual person.

When I was going through my out-of-control phase, I could have got into some very dangerous situations. But I never sold my body - ever.

I like how she has to point out that she never turned any tricks, which just makes me think that she might have. Uh-huh…denial is a river in Egypt.
