Kanye West killed it at the Grammy Awards last night. Say what you want about his ego or his little temper tantrums, but the man can entertain. It was also touching that he did a tribute to his mother. He nearly brought everyone in the audience to tears.
…at Connect 4. How random is that? Also, I must add that I LOVE CONNECT 4! Anyways, back to the story. For the first time since his mother’s death, Kanye West took to his blog, and wrote about how he’s been coping. It seems he has been coping with the help of Connect 4 and some very famous friends. He writes:

When I was in Europe I would play this game for hours and hours… it helped me zone out. Everybody would get envolved… Derrick Dudley (Common’s manager) and Consequence were the best other than me… I beat Lexi… Don C beat Jay… Tony Williams beat Common… but every now and then people would speak of this legendary connect 4 champion……….. BEYONCE!!! I had 2 play her!…so last night at Jay’s new 40/40 club in Las Vegas (which is sidebar, crazy big w/ 24krt gold flooring, Black Jack tables, $500 slot machines,the biggest projection screen in the universe and the best turkey burgers I’ve ever had in my life) she beat me 9 times in a row! (and I didn’t even spaz lol) here’s a photo of the only game I won!

I didn’t think it was possible, but just reading this made me like him and Beyonce a little bit. Who knew these two big superstars would be playing Connect 4 in a back room of a nightclub? And you know Beyonce let him win that last game. He probably wouldn’t let her quit until he won one. Look at those pieces. How could she have missed it?
Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who operated on Donda West before she did thinks she might have taken too many painkillers which caused her death. He claims that West was perfectly fine when she left his office after the surgery.
Adams told the La Times that he prescribed Vicodin to Dr. West for pain, and that she probably had “a rough night” post-surgery. When asked if he thought she could have taken too many painkillers, Adams said, “That’s one speculation on my part, yes.” Adams also told the paper, “I believe I know exactly what happened to her, but I will not comment on it until I see the final report.”
The preliminary autopsy performed on Donda West showed that she died “as a result of surgery or anesthesia”. It did not mention that drugs were a factor.
It’s always disconcerting when you have unscrupulous doctors. People like Howard K. Stern or Kevin Federline, you expect them to act shady, but I guess I have a higher expectation of people in the medical field. In any case, this guy is in deep shit, and he keeps digging himself deeper.

Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West, 58, has passed away “as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure”, according to her publicist. There were no further details on the type of procedure Dr. West underwent or the cause of death at this time. According to Lt. Fred Corral, an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Dr. West died on Saturday night at 8:29pm after being rushed to the emergency room at Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center in Marina Del Rey.

It’s official: Kanye West has outsold 50 Cent and will take the #1 spot on the Billboard Charts this week. According to Nielsen SoundScan, West sold approximately 957,000 while 50 Cent sold 621,000 albums.
50 said he would retire if Kanye sold more albums then him, but it remains to be seen whether he will live up to his promise.
